FRANKLIN
Lona Agnes Gunter, 80 passed away on Wednesday, May 15, 2024 at her residence in Franklin.
She was born on June 19, 1943 in Taylor County, Kentucky to William Bosley “Bee” Warren and Gertie (Nelson) Warren. She married Joseph R. Gunter on September 2, 1962. He lovingly survives. She is also survived by children, Ronda (Scott) Ankney, Miranda (Scott) Cook and Barry (Annette) Gunter; grandchildren, A.J. (Kristen) Cook, Shane (Brittany) Ankney, Daniel Gunter, Erin (Ian) Groenert, Joel (Alex) Ankney and Leah Gunter (Brandon Sichting); ten great grandchildren; sister, Bernice Stillwell and sister-in-law, Mary Warren and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in passing by her parents and brothers, Lindsey Herman, Stoy, Roy, Gilbert and Wilburn Warren.
Lona attended Taylor County Schools in Kentucky.
Lona was employed by IPC in Shelbyville for several years. She also worked at Lord’s Cupboard, Kroger and Bob Evans in Franklin, Indiana.
She attended Franklin Church of the Nazarene. Lona loved flowers and gardening and she enjoyed sewing. She loved spending time with her family.
Jack McMahon will conduct a Celebration of Lona’s life on Saturday, May 25 at 12:00 p.m. at Flinn and Maguire Funeral Home, 2898 North Morton Street, (U.S. 31 North) in Franklin with visitation on Saturday, May 25 from 10:00 a.m. to time of service at 12:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
