Juanita Faye (Roome) Wilson, 88, passed away Thursday, May 16, 2024 at her residence in Nineveh, Indiana surrounded by her sons.
She was born on February 20,1936 in Hope, IN to Charles Phillip and Janetta Ruth (Whipple) Roome. She married Ronald G Wilson on April 30, 1954; he preceded her in death on August 15, 2010. Juanita was the devoted mother to four sons; Stewart (Lori) Wilson, David Wilson, Larry Wilson and Tim (Tricia) Wilson. Her heart was full of joy as her grandchildren added to her family; Jason Wilson, Aaron Wilson, Racheal (Mark) Young, Ellen (Glen) Prince, and Crystal Wilson. Adding to her joy was her 10 Great Grandchildren. She is also survived by her sisters Jeannie Robbins and Phyllis Fox. Juanita was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Ron; her son, Larry; siblings Arthur Roome, Mary Morgan, Virginia Williams and Ann Lahr.
Juanita was a graduate of Arsenal Tech School in Indianapolis, also graduating from the Indiana School of Practical Nursing where she earned a degree that was her passion for her entire career. Juanita loved! She was a caregiver by heart. She retired from Johnson Memorial Hospital after 20 years of nursing in the emergency room and caring for the elderly in the Todd Aikens Unit at the hospital. Juanita was an avid sewer and loved to paint. She delighted in singing songs to her grandchildren. She loved taking ballet and dance and performing skits for her patients in the hospital memory care.
Visitation for family and friends will be held on Wednesday, May 22, 2024 at Flinn and Maguire Funeral Home, 2898 North Morton Street (US 31 North) in Franklin from 4 pm to 6 pm with a service to celebrate Juanita’s life beginning at 6 pm. Pastor (daughter-in-law) Tricia Wilson will officiate the services.
