This year, Trisha Shirley wasn’t sure what she could put under the Christmas tree for her two children.

Shirley and her husband separated this month. She moved with her two children, Brayden Ford, 13, and Peightyn Shirley, 7, to her mother and stepfather’s home.

After being a stay-at-home mom for 10 years, Shirley is looking for a job. But with no money coming in right now, she wasn’t sure she’d be able to have a Christmas for her family this year.
