40 Greenwood households without power

About 40 homes in Greenwood are without power this morning.

An outage was reported at Grassy Creek subdivision in Greenwood. Crews are heading there now, and power should be restored in about an hour, Chet Aubin, of Johnson County REMC, said.

At one point Sunday, more than 1,000 customers were without power, but most had their power restored overnight.

The Indiana Red Cross opened a shelter at Franklin Community Middle School for residents without power from about 10 p.m. Sunday to 12:30 a.m. this morning, but closed it because no one used it, Johnson County Emergency Management director Stephanie Sichting said.
