9-vehicle crash halts traffic on interstate, injures 5

Five people were injured in a southside interstate crash that brought Wednesday morning’s commute to a standstill.

The nine-vehicle crash happened on Interstate 65, just north of County Line Road. Five Indianapolis residents were injured, according to Indiana State Police.

Driver Nicole Owens, 35, and her three passengers — Katheryn Scott, 30; James Long, 36; and Brandon Underhill, 27 — were injured in the crash, according to a news release from the Indiana State Police.
