A year ago, Keith Poor told the county he disagreed with how much officials said his home and land were worth, and he is still waiting for the dispute to be resolved.
Now, he is set to get an updated value of his property, and he worries his tax bill could go up again. When the county did a reassessment last year and updated the value of all properties, the value of Poor’s property went up to $148,000. And the tax bill on his Center Grove area home increased by about $120 per year.
Poor doesn’t think his home is worth that much because he hasn’t made any changes to his property. So he filed an appeal with the Johnson County Assessor’s Office in November.
