Several Franklin schools were put on lockdown Wednesday after a man robbed a bank at gunpoint.
At about 1:22 p.m., a man walked into MainSource Bank, located a block east of U.S. 31 at 597 Banta St., showed the teller a handgun and demanded money. The man left on foot with an undisclosed amount of money and headed south, according to a Franklin Police Department news release.
Nearby schools were put on lockdown as a precaution, police said.
Police are looking for the man, who was wearing sunglasses, a red Indiana sweatshirt and black sweatpants, the release said.
