A woman was arrested following a fight with a dorm mate at the Atterbury Job Corps Center near Edinburgh early Tuesday.
Christina Blissit, 18, of 7522 S. Dorchester Ave., Chicago, was arrested on two charges of battery.
The center’s safety and security officer was called to the dorm’s common area between 12:30 and 1 a.m. after a fight between Blissit and another woman. The two seemed to be under control by the time he got to the common area, but then Blissit hit the other other woman. The woman then threw Blissit to the ground and hit her in self-defense, according to a Johnson County Sheriff’s Office report.
The security officer tried to separate the women, but Blissit tried to hit him in the face, scratched his neck and upper chest and grabbed and ripped his shirt. The security officer and the woman both declined medical treatment, the report said.
Blissit was taken to the Johnson County jail, where she was being held on $4,000 bond.
