Art show of their own

Their art is more than time spent coloring in class.

The elementary school students’ work includes sculptures based on pieces by famous artists that took hours to master, a lesson in pop art culture or a lecture in the best use of color and lines in a city scape.

The Greenwood elementary school art show kicks off today and runs through Friday at the Greenwood Public Library. Hundreds of pieces of art from all four Greenwood elementary schools will be on display in the children’s section conference room.

Displaying the work is more than letting students show off what they have been working on in class, art teachers said.
