A property owner plans to develop a business park next to a massive warehouse east of Interstate 65 in Greenwood.

Ohio-based First Financial Bank wants to divide a 131-acre lot northwest of Graham Road and Main Street in Greenwood and build infrastructure on the site. The proposed Southpoint Business Park would be next to the 668,248-square-foot Southpoint One warehouse, which Caterpillar Logistics Services recently moved into.

The bank has filed plans with the city that call for building a road through the middle of the farmland and installing drainage, including a few rainwater-collection ponds. The goal is to get the site ready for factories, offices or other businesses, city planner Bill Peeples said.

No buildings are planned at this point, and the bank has not asked the city for any incentives.
