Cliff Hawkins kept waiting for his Center Grove basketball team to play to its potential during Friday night’s sectional semifinal against Whiteland.
Once the third quarter began, the Trojans coach finally got his wish.
Trailing by five points at the half, Center Grove forced eight Warriors turnovers in the third stanza and converted 9 of 13 field-goal attempts before settling in with a 60-48 victory.
