Employment agent joins charitable program
Express Employment Professionals in Indianapolis is helping put people to work this holiday season.
All four offices in the Indianapolis area are taking part in the “Hire 1 … Help 2” job placement initiative. The goal of the program is to put 250 additional people to work next week and feed 250 needy families this Thanksgiving season.
The company is working toward helping as many people as possible earn a paycheck in time for the holiday season. Using 100 percent of the proceeds, the company will partner with local ministries and food pantries to donate a full Thanksgiving meal to feed one family in need for every person put out to work.
“This is where the idea of hiring one and helping two came from. When a company hires one person, they are helping two families: one by earning a paycheck in time for the holidays and the other by receiving a Thanksgiving meal,” Mike Heffner, franchise owner of the Greenwood office, said in a statement.
The company is partnering with local food pantries, including Mount Pleasant Christian Church’s Living Bread Inc. and Wheeler Mission.
Local businesses can help by hiring an Express associate, providing a reference for that associate to use in finding future employment and sharing the campaign with other businesses in the community.
