A church that has been renting one of Center Grove’s former elementary school buildings wants to buy the property.
Southland Community Church, which has been renting the former West Grove Elementary School for about four years, made an offer to buy the building for $670,000.
The school board approved the sale Thursday, and once the church secures financing it can set a closing date, Arkanoff said.
The money from the sale will go into Center Grove’s rainy day fund and could be used to pay for maintenance, upgrades or other building costs. The school board will decide how the money is spent, Superintendent Richard Arkanoff said.
