Center Grove cuts middle schools’ media specialist

Center Grove plans to change who works in media centers with students who are researching projects and with teachers who are showing students how to use the Internet for schoolwork.

The school board unanimously approved eliminating the position of the media specialist at the school district’s two middle schools. And school officials also are considering moving the two media specialists currently working at Sugar Grove and Pleasant Grove elementary schools into classrooms next school year, Superintendent Richard Arkanoff said.

The changes would save the school district about $100,000.
