SHELBYVILLE

In August, the Center Grove girls soccer team dropped its season-opener to Perry Meridian.

But the Trojans defeated the Falcons when it mattered most, in Wednesday’s Class 2A Shelbyville Regional.

Perry Meridian took an early lead in the semifinal match before No. 14 Center Grove came alive in the second half for a 3-1 win.

Junior Rachel Hippenmeyer, sophomore Erin Sutton and freshman Nicole Jansen each scored for the Trojans. Senior Jenna Linxwiler had two assists.
