Keith Hatfield, a Roncalli High School and University of Indianapolis graduate, has been hired as the new varsity baseball coach at Center Grove High School.

Hatfield replaces longtime coach Dave Gandolph, who will retire from his teaching position Jan. 1. He coached the Trojans for 33 years but is moving on to Scecina, where he will serve as assistant athletics director and head baseball coach.

Hatfield, a former pitching coach at the University of Indianapolis, served four seasons as Roncalli’s head baseball coach before joining Center Grove. The Rebels finished runners-up in the 2012 state finals and won two Marion County Tournament championships on his watch.
