Center Grove names new boys basketball coach

Former Butler University basketball player and Indiana All-Star Zach Hahn has been hired as the new head varsity boys basketball coach at Center Grove High School.

The school made the announcement late Friday afternoon.

Hahn has spent the last three years as a varsity assistant coach at Ben Davis High School. He graduated from Butler University with a Bachelor of Science degree in Physical & Health Education. He was captain of  Butler’s men’s basketball team and helped lead the Bulldogs to two straight runner-up finishes in the NCAA championship game.

A graduate of New Castle Chrysler High School, he helped lead the basketball team to a Class 4A state championship in 2006 and served as captain of the Indiana All Star team in 2007.

“I’ve been preparing for this for not just the last three years, but for the last 11 years,” Hahn said in a statement. “I feel like this was the time for me and Center Grove was the absolute best place.”

Hahn replaces Cliff Hawkins, who resigned at the end of the 2014-14 season.
