Center Grove teacher finalist for state honor

A Center Grove teacher is one of 10 finalists being considered as Indiana’s teacher of the year.

Matthew Ehresman, who teaches eighth-grade social studies at Center Grove Middle School Central, was selected by the Indiana Department of Education as one of the state’s 10 teacher-of-the-year finalists, Center Grove schools spokeswoman Stacy Conrad said.

In May, Ehresman was selected as Center Grove’s teacher of the year for the 2013-14 school year by a committee from Franklin College. School districts around the state passed teachers’ names to the department of education, which then chose the finalists.
