The Clark-Pleasant school board plans to conduct the search for the district’s new superintendent on its own.

The board won’t use a university search team to hire a new leader for the district and wants to have the position filled by the spring or start of school next year, board members E. Curtis Harris and John Venter said.

The board hasn’t created a list of qualifications they want in a new superintendent, and members want the public to help come up with the list.

Residents are asked to attend the Oct. 23 school board meeting to offer ideas about the qualities and characteristics Clark-Pleasant’s superintendent should have. The school district also is updating its website so that residents will be able to post their opinions, Harris and Venter said.
