College update: Franklin graduate earns honor

Clarke University men’s volleyball player Travis Gabehart was named to the Academic All-American first team as selected by the College Sports Information Directors of America.

The Franklin graduate, who majored in history and graduated with a 3.95 grade-point average, also received the Clarke Senior Male Athlete of the Year Award.

Gabehart earned two all-conference honors, once being named to the first team, and was a three-time all-academic conference honoree. He had 751 career kills, 10th all time for Clarke men’s volleyball players.

Franklin

• Former University of Indianapolis basketball player Adrian Moss was selected in the first round of the Canadian Professional Basketball League draft. He immediately was traded to the London Lightening, the defending league champions, who are coached by former NBA player Michael Ray Richardson. His season begins Nov. 3.
