Column: Hearts and more hearts

EDITOR’S NOTE — Hearts and Darts is published Mondays and as space is available.

Items must include the writer’s full name, city of residence, telephone number and full names of all people mentioned in the item. Items cannot be printed without the writer’s real first and last name and city of residence.

Writers are asked to name no more than 10 individuals and five businesses in hearts and not to name individuals in darts. Items should not exceed 100 words. We do not print darts related to business disputes.

• Hearts and hallelujahs to the Johnson County Community Foundation for its generous grant awarded to Proctor Memorial Park to help fund the installation of 400 tons of rip rap stone around our pond. We are so grateful to the foundation for partnering with us as we pay tribute and honor the men and women who have served or are currently serving our great country. As you reflect on your many blessings as Americans I invite you to visit Proctor Memorial Park, 499 Tracy Road, New Whiteland, to remember the men and women who have sacrificed for your freedom.

• Four big hearts and hugs for Indiana State Police Trooper Tyler Utterback from four ladies who are so thankful for being pulled over in Franklin to be notified that we had a flat tire. He caught it before we got on Interstate 65 which may have saved our lives. He not only followed us to the nearest gas station and tried to fill it with air, but also got us to a tire center where it was repaired. Thank you.
