Two candidates for the 9th U.S. Congressional District will have a debate at Franklin College.

U.S. Rep. Todd Young, Republican, and Democratic nominee Shelli Yoder will square off Oct. 23 at the liberal arts school. The debate will be from 7 to 8:30 p.m. in Theater Margot in the Johnson Center for Fine Arts at Branigin Boulevard and Grizzly Drive.

Both candidates are from Bloomington. The district includes all of Johnson County and stretches from the northern edge of the county to the Ohio River.

Residents can attend the debate, and information about tickets will be announced soon. Those who don’t attend can listen to the debate on WFCI-89.5 FM or by streaming it live on the college website, franklincollege.edu.

A second debate is planned in the southern part of the district.
