Construction restricts streets near courthouse

Streets around the Johnson County Courthouse in downtown Franklin will be restricted or closed later this month when a street and sidewalk improvement project begins.

Starting March 25, one lane will be closed on portions of Jefferson Street, and East Court and West Court streets will be closed at times throughout the week.

After April 1, East Court Street and the parking lot south of Franklin City Hall will be closed for the construction project. Businesses on East Court Street will remain open and can be accessed by sidewalk or alley while the road is closed. The street and parking lot will be reopened later this summer, and construction then will move to West Court Street and the county government offices parking lot.
