The county coroner’s official badge, a computer that contains death investigation information and a handgun were stolen from the coroner’s vehicle, which was parked outside his home Sunday night or early Monday.
A computer with information about local residents who died, camera, identification and several flash drives with Coroner Craig Lutz’s personal documents are missing after his vehicle was broken into at his home near Whiteland. Lutz said he was concerned someone might try to use his government identification badge to impersonate him.
The burglary occurred between 10 p.m. Sunday and 6:45 a.m. Monday in the 1400 block of East County Road 600N. Other vehicles and a garage also were broken into at two nearby homes, according to police reports.
