Franklin’s Adam Destrampe swam fast at Friday night’s preliminaries of the IHSAA Boys Swimming and Diving State Finals.
He was fast enough to put his goal of two top-three finishes within reach at today’s 1 p.m. finals at the Indiana University Natatorium on the IUPUI campus.
Destrampe, a sophomore, reached the finals in both the 200- and 500-yard freestyle events. In the 200, he finished in 1:41.38, better than his qualifying time of 1:42.01. He shaved more than six seconds off his 500 qualifying time, clocking in at 4:31.95, fifth fastest of the night.
