Defense lifts Franklin to lopsided win

Behind a sound defensive effort, the Franklin Community High School girls basketball team cruised to a 52-29 win Thursday night at Bloomington North.

Neither team shot well in the first half, but the Grizzly Cubs, behind the shooting efforts of senior guard Tara Parmer and freshman Delanie Hill, finally got things going midway through the second quarter.

Franklin turned up its defensive pressure and forced Bloomington North (2-4) into five costly turnovers that turned into easy buckets in transition.
