Johnson one of four counties in central Indiana to see a decrease in September compared to last year; Hendricks drops most

Local home sales decreased last month, but the average price of the homes has continued to increase over last year’s prices.

Last month, 138 homes sold, about 1 percent fewer than in September 2011 when 139 were sold, according to a report from Indianapolis-based F.C. Tucker Co.

For the year, local home sales are up by about 11 percent, the report said.

Johnson County is one of four central Indiana counties that had a decrease in home sales last month compared to September 2011, according to the report. Hendricks County had the largest decrease at 9 percent, while Shelby and Madison counties saw increases of more than 45 percent, the report said.
