Police are investigating what caused an Indianapolis man to drive off the side of Interstate 65 on Tuesday.

Christopher E. Buster, 38, was killed in a single-vehicle crash at about 4:30 a.m. about a mile north of the Whiteland Road exit, Whiteland Fire Chief Dave Gabbard said.

Buster lost control of a small street sweeper that he was driving north on I-65. His truck flipped over, and he was thrown from the vehicle, Johnson County Sheriff’s Office Chief Deputy Randy Werden said.

Investigators don’t know what caused him to lose control of the  vehicle, he said.

Buster was a good man and a good employee who was well-liked at his workplace, said his boss, Rob Pitman, owner of Envirosweep Complete Exterior Service.
