Eagles win in final regular-season game

NASHVILLE — Sarah Southerland threw a one-hitter and struck out 11 Friday to lead Brown County to a 4-1 Western Indiana Conference softball win against Northview in its regular-season finale.

Bri Harper went 2 for 3 with a double and two RBIs for the Eagles (9-10, 4-2), who finished in a tie for second in the WIC. Azhia Morgan and Carly Williams each went 2 for 3, and Cheyenne Ellis went 2 for 4.

“I think we’re going to be fine,” Brown County coach Ron McDonald said. “I think that we just need to make sure our hitting is going. Our pitching seems to be pretty stable right now. If we don’t beat ourselves, we have a pretty good chance to win our sectional.”
