Ex-Greenwood coach pleads guilty to child seduction

An ex-Greenwood Community High School teacher and coach who was charged with having a sexual relationship with a student has pleaded guilty to two counts of child seduction.

Tim Guilfoy, 37, was originally charged with seven counts of child seduction after police found him with a 17-year-old student parked in a truck in the 8800 block of Madison Avenue early in the morning. Guilfoy and the student were both naked, and Guilfoy told police they had been having sex in the truck.

The investigation showed that the relationship had been going on for two months.

Guilfoy had originally been charged for each instance of a sex act with the teen. He pleaded guilty to two of those counts on Tuesday, Marion County Prosecutor's Office spokesperson A.J. Deer said.

The teen told police she knew Guilfoy because he was a teacher and strength and conditioning coach at Greenwood.

Under Indiana law, adults can be charged with child seduction if they have a sexual relationship with someone between 16 and 18 years old and are in a position of trust or authority, including being a teacher.
