A former Greenwood police officer was arrested after police said he slapped and pushed his girlfriend.
Nicholas T. Dine, 29, 870 Waveland Lane, Greenwood, was arrested Monday on a charge of domestic battery.
Dine’s mother called police after she got a text message from his girlfriend that Dine had struck her, that he was threatening to harm himself and other family members and that she was hiding in a bathroom, according to a police report.
His girlfriend told police that Dine slapped her and twisted her wrist to get his car keys when she tried to stop him from driving because she felt he was too intoxicated, according to the report.
