Have you ever arrived at a party and realized you forgot the present that everyone was waiting for?

That’s exactly what happened when spring made her grand entrance Wednesday but absentmindedly forgot to bring her gift of warm weather.

I had anticipated this would happen, so I staved off my need to plant something in the frozen mud by dropping by the Indiana Flower and Patio Show last weekend. It also doubled as “date night” with the husband. We sauntered among 400 exhibits of hot tubs, saunas, fire pits, yard art, decks and the latest in outdoor kitchens and furniture, but I went to get my perennial garden idea “fix.”
