Former strip mall brings $1.67 million at auction

A Bargersville area retail center, located in an area once slated for growth, has been sold at auction.

The South Grove Landing Shoppes, located near the intersection of State Road 135 and Whiteland Road, was sold for $1.67 million. Venture Real Estate Investments Group bought the retail center, which is home to six businesses and is 75 percent full.

The retail center was built nearly five years ago after Clarian Health, now part of the Indiana University Health network, purchased 158 acres on the southwest corner of the intersection in 2007 with plans to build an urgent care facility. Once the hospital facilities were put on hold, development slowed near the intersection.
