The Kiwanis Club of Franklin celebrated 66 years of Rural Life awards in late November.
Ten-year youth members Brandon Rice and Danielle Burris were honored with Rural Life Award plaques, as well as adult leaders Brian Southern and Melissa Veenhuizen.
Veenhuizen has served as a 4-H leader for Horse and Pony Club for eight years and assists with workshops, open riding times and club meetings. She works in various capacities at the 4-H project fair.
