LEXINGTON, Ky.
For the Franklin College women’s basketball team, it was a tale of two halves at Saturday’s Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference Tournament.
Playing No. 3 seed Hanover in the semifinals at Transylvania, the No. 2 Grizzlies led by 12 points early in the half and 34-29 at halftime.
But the Panthers dominated in the second half, outscoring Franklin 36-23 en route to a 65-57 win.
The game marked the third time the HCAC rivals have played this season. They split during the regular season, with the Panthers winning the first time, and the Grizzlies taking the rematch.
