Mitsubishi in Franklin is expanding its plant again, and the city approved a new tax break for the upcoming construction project.

Mitsubishi Heavy Industries Climate Control will add a 24,000-square-foot expansion to the north end of its building next year to house new equipment for making heating and cooling parts and engine turbochargers. The $1.2 million project will create three jobs, Mitsubishi general manager Bob Francis said.

The city council approved a 10-year tax break for the expansion. The company will save about $210,000 in taxes over the next decade.
