Mitsubishi Heavy Industries Climate Control in Franklin will hire 73 employees as part of a $10 million expansion. The Japan-based company plans to start making turbochargers so that smaller, more fuel-efficient engines will have more pep.
The company’s workforce had dropped to 42 in 2009, but currently employs 220 workers. The additional jobs will grow the workforce by 33 percent and pay more than $20 per hour.
The plan was released Tuesday in Indianapolis as part of a broader announcement of Indiana companies adding more than 1,500 jobs in the coming years.
