The reorganization of a Franklin group given millions in tax dollars is complete, and now the new board is studying how that money was spent and what should happen next.
The final two new members have been named to the Franklin Development Corp. board following a reorganization where all but one of the previous members resigned or were replaced. The seven board members now will
oversee 27 projects totaling more than $3 million that are in progress.
The group was founded in 2008 with $5 million in tax funds from the city’s tax-increment financing districts, which set aside taxes collected from businesses for economic development.
