Franklin park fight spurs three arrests

A six-person fight at a Franklin park ended with two people in the hospital and three others arrested.

Krista Shaw, 21, and Danny Flores, 18, were arrested on charges of battery and disorderly conduct and were taken to the Johnson County jail. A juvenile was arrested on the same charges and was taken to the Johnson County juvenile detention center.

A 17-year-old girl told police she went to Schmidt Memorial Park on Monday because a girl had said she wanted to fight her. She said she planned to tell the other girl that she didn’t want to fight, but the two started arguing and a fight broke out, according to a Franklin Police Department report.

Shaw and the juvenile joined the fight and started kicking the 17-year-old in the back, according to the report.

One of the girl’s friends tried to break up the fight, and he was punched in the face.

Both he and the girl were treated and released from Johnson Memorial Hospital.

Shaw and Flores told police they were not involved in the fight, according to the report.

Shaw was being held at the Johnson County jail on $2,000 bond. Flores was released on $2,000 bond.
