There were boys basketball players in Johnson County with higher scoring averages than Keenan Wood this past season. Ones with better shooting percentages, too.
However, when pointing to the 15 victories Franklin Community High School was able to accumulate for its first-year head coach, no one left a deeper imprint than the Grizzly Cubs’ starting point guard.
“In terms of what one player can do to help his team in so many ways ... I think Keenan led us in six or seven categories, which is just unbelievable,” said Franklin coach Jerry Bomholt, whose disciplined offense and 1-2-2 zone defense ran efficiently more often than not due to the efforts of the 5-foot-11 senior.
