Franklin schools were put on lockdown after a man robbed a bank off U.S. 31.

A man showed a weapon during the robbery at MainSource Bank, located at 597 Banta St. at about 2 p.m., Franklin Police Department Deputy Chief Chris Tennell said.

Police were looking for the man, who was wearing sunglasses and a sweatshirt. The schools were put on lockdown as a precaution, Tennell said.
