On their way back toward Franklin, two teenagers didn’t even know there was water standing on the road until they hit it.

A huge wave crashed over the front of the car, the engine died, the car spun and hit a speed limit sign and immediately started filling with water. David Johnson, 18, and his girlfriend Kassandra Jenkins, 16, knew they had to get out as water was pouring in all four doors.

“We didn’t even see a difference in the road and a big wave came over the front,” Jenkins said.
