The Greenwood woman choked up as she saw the meats, cans of fruit and vegetables and desserts, knowing she could now give the Christmas she imagined to her two grandchildren.

Quentilla Gonterman sat on the floor unpacking the box of food from the Good Cheer Fund and spread each item out on the carpet. Photos of her grandchildren Summer, 12, and Hayden, 8, hang on the walls in the living room decorated with a Christmas tree, stockings and small Christmas village figurines.

The past few months have been difficult for her and her husband James after having to replace their identification cards and then losing money they lent to a relative who was trying to get a loan.
