Whiteland teen Brock Johnson is nearing the end of his battle with Hodgkins and non-Hodgkins lymphoma.
Rounds of chemotherapy and radiation have been completed. All that remains are regular checkups to ensure the cancer hasn’t spread.
But beating the disease has wiped out all of his family’s savings. To help the family members pay their bills, fix their car and prevent foreclosure on their house, friends and family have planned a daylong fundraiser.
The Rock 4 Brock benefit motorcycle ride, dinner and concert will be Saturday. The event will begin with a poker run starting at Whit’s Inn in New Whiteland.
Rider registration will start at 10 a.m., with the ride starting at 11 a.m. The ride will go from New Whiteland to Trafalgar, Amity, Whiteland and back to Whit’s Inn. The cost is $20 per rider, and $10 for passengers. Registration includes admission to the dinner after the ride.
After the motorcycle ride, dinner and music will continue from 5 p.m. Saturday to 1 a.m. Sunday. Music by Benito will be from 5 to 7 p.m., and live music will continue afterward. Admission to the dinner without participating in the ride is $8 per person.
All proceeds will go to benefit Johnson, his mother, Amy Luther, and two sisters, Brea and Bobbi Johnson.
Donations may also be sent to Vicki Risch at 122 Tracy Ridge Blvd., New Whiteland, 46184.
