The plans started well before Halloween on the Bohler family’s annual Christmas display.

Payton Bohler would sit in his room with a sheet of looseleaf paper and a pencil every day after school. He tabulated all of the strings of lights he had, and mapped out where each of the 7,425 lights would go.

Routing extension cords, setting timers and color-coordinating each room all have to be finalized.
