Journalism students at Greenwood Community High School will have the chance to re-create a photographic technique used during the Civil War.
Center Grove history students will see drawings of famous cathedrals they read about in their history books. Whiteland band students will learn the history of and see photos of the birthplaces of composers whose music they play.
Three county high school teachers received $10,000 Lilly Endowment Creativity Fellowships that allowed them to travel and bring back their findings and observations to help their students. The teachers from Center Grove, Greenwood and Whiteland traipsed through Europe looking for famous cathedrals and the birthplace of composers and learned historical forms of photography.
