Rotary International has spent more than 30 years working toward the extinction of the polio virus.
Polio has been all but eliminated in many countries around the world. But areas such as Somalia, Nigeria and Afghanistan still suffer outbreaks; last year, 250 cases were reported.
With the medical technology to prevent that, Greenwood resident Timothy Lee thinks that’s a tragedy.
