A Greenwood area man has died in a weekend crash, and his wife and grandson were rescued by Good Samaritans when the vehicle they were traveling in burst into flames.
Dennis Godsave, 62, died Sunday night, according to a news release from the Indiana State Police.
Godsave, his wife Sandra, also age 62, and grandson Andrew Godsave, age 9, were driving north on Interstate 65 in Scott County when a vehicle heading south crossed the cable barriers and hit the truck.
Dennis Godsave’s truck and the trailer he was pulling went off the side of the road and burst into flames, police said.
Passers-by pulled Sandra and Andrew from the truck but could not rescue Dennis.
Andrew was taken to Kosair Children’s Hospital in Louisville. Sandra and the other driver was taken to University Hospital, also in Louisville.
Indiana State Police are investigating. Scott County is south of Seymour.
