Greenwood man treated, ticketed after crash

A Greenwood man was ticketed for driving too fast after crashing into a parked car Monday night.

William Montgomery, 34, was driving on Grace Street near Rose Street in the Center Grove area about 10:15 p.m. when he hit a parked car on the side of the road. Montgomery’s car flipped over twice before landing on the driver’s side, according to a Johnson County Sheriff’s Office report.

Montgomery told police he was late for work and had been awake for 28 hours. He was taken to a local hospital and treated for pain, the report said.

Montgomery received a ticket because his car couldn’t have flipped twice if he hadn’t been speeding, Johnson County Sheriff Doug Cox said.
