Sometimes, Greenwood Mayor Mark Myers has to pull over to the side of the road to type an urgent message on his tablet computer.
The new mayor gets a steady stream of emails all day, and a few can’t wait, especially when an answer is needed on the negotiations to buy a new city hall or on how to set up the new stormwater utility.
Someone could need instructions right away on what to do about a billing issue while Myers is headed to Plainfield to see what could be learned from its splash park.
Since taking office in January, Myers has juggled a crowded calendar of meetings, major projects and a variety of concerns that residents bring to him. He routinely gets complaints about potholes and recently heard from a veteran who was upset by a defaced American flag being flown on private property.
